For my winter riders out there I am very jealous of you. I do not have the time or patience to ride in the winter, but some of you do or want to. I am also way to busy in the winter months to even try this. Here are some tips that i found about about winter riding and the tires.
Spiked tires will be your savior from slipping and sliding on the ice.
One can buy these tires from a dirt bike specialty store even though they are pricey they are so worth it. These tires are a lot safer and can prevent many injures that could be caused by falling on ice do to slick tires. One can also make these tires at home. It is a little tricky, but can save money in the end. Go to hardware store and get a bunch of hex-head metal screws and try to make sure that they are longer than half an inch. You could also look for racing screws, but this would once again be more expensive. You then screw each of these screws into your tires making sure they are long enough so they do not fall out but short enough so they do not pop the inner tube of the tire. Try to use brand new tires if you can. Then you have yourself a pair of winter tires! Have Fun!
